The Foundation is pleased to announce Clarence Lee, a DPT student at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Charlestown, MA as the recipient of the 2023 Haley Cremer Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is given to an individual that demonstrates passion and dedication to school, to the profession of physical therapy, to helping others, and improving lives of those around them as Haley did every day. Consideration is given to an individual best demonstrating Haley’s four core values:

  • Demonstrating Compassion for others
  • Instilling Perseverance in the face of hardship
  • Fostering Insight and recovery
  • Championing Renewal of spirit.

Ivie Cremer, Haley’s mother and the Foundation’s President, speaking at the APTA-MA event in Norwood, said, “Marc and I are deeply honored to present this year’s scholarship award to Clarence Lee. Beyond his outstanding academic achievements, Clarence embodies many of the character traits that remind us of Haley’s selfless spirit and dedication. Clarence has channeled his energies towards a career devoted to helping those in need. We received numerous heartfelt letters of recommendation on his behalf. I’d like to share a quote from a clinical instructor that was in one of those letters:”

“Clarence’s professionalism is a strength beyond the level of many practicing clinicians. His compassion and empathy are extremely genuine, and all of his patients felt very comfortable in his care. Staff members would constantly take the opportunity to comment on his professionalism. He stood out as an outstanding member of the team.” And “I constantly had therapists, patients, and family members expressing their appreciation for having Clarence as a member of the team. We will miss him.”

Ivie went on to say, “Clarence, on behalf of the Haley Cremer Foundation, we are thrilled to play a small part in your journey towards a fulfilling career, and we wish you the very best.”
