Simmons University, recognizing the memory, legacy and impact of Haley, awarded her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree posthumously on May 16, 2024.
“The nomination of Haley for this prestigious honor, brought to light and my attention the impact Haley has had on so many, the foundation created in her name, and the bright light that she so clearly was as an amazing young woman”, said Paul R. Geisler, EdD, AT Ret., Interim Dean, School of Sciences & Health Professions, College of Natural, Behavioral and Health Sciences, Simmons University. Geisler went on to say, “We are honored to recognize Haley with the awarding of her degree, posthumously.”
Justin A. Beebe, PT, PhD, Associate Professor, Program Director, Department of Physical Therapy, Simmons University stated, “It was an honor to represent Simmons University in honoring Haley’s legacy by awarding the posthumous Doctor of Physical Therapy degree to her family. By all accounts, Haley’s compassion, advocacy for social justice and her community, and general orientation toward the service of others represented what Simmons strives to be.”
